Textured Tuesday: Winter Stems

In summer, we enjoy the color and aroma of flowers, 

then mourn their passing with the fall.

But winter gives us a different aspect of their beauty,

the stems and base that support their petals, leaves and seeds,

have a beauty all their own, one that is only revealed

when the leaves and petals have fallen away.
