Textured Tuesday: Fringe Element


The bark on this tree had its own
texture accented by the remains of a vine
that had grown up the side, which appeared to have
been pulled off, leaving a feathery rope.

    For a moment there I thought I was looking in the mirror. Sheesh, I hate getting old.

    It hadn't occurred to me, Dive, but the bark of the tree resembles the stretch marks on a friend's stomach after the birth of her babies (they were teenagers by that time). And, yeah, my suddenly crepe-y neck. Overnight! How'd that happen? Eeewww.

    PS, But you're a cutie anyway.
