As a member of the City Daily Photo blog community,
each month I look forward to sharing a picture
based on an assigned theme.
Unfortunately, that portal was hacked and some
of the CDP members set up a website where
we might post pictures of our April theme,
Cobblestones. However, I can't recall
where I last saw cobblestones in Indianapolis,
so was happy to find this nicely bricked
alley-way just off the downtown area,
along Massachusetts Avenue.

Many thanks for your contribution, Sara. I understand instantly your quandary with regard to finding cobblestones to photograph. They are essentially an oldy-worldly construct, even a European construct. The true-blue 'cobblestones'.
However, what you have shown, to me, is the modern version of cobblestones - the bricked street or courtyard, which is regular and flat. For mine, this is so much nicer than concrete or bitumen. And the colours can be wonderfully varied, and the brick design can vary, and the laying pattern can vary.
Besides, the true cobble is just so hard to walk upon ...
Thanks for joining in our temporary Monthly Theme day.
I guess this theme day will be for many a nostalgic reminiscence of cobblestone days past... None of them in Auckland either..
Nice rainy day photograph though!
And the roofs too I suppose... :))
Thank you, Julie, for taking the time to set up this little "outlet" for CDP participants.
Yes, the bricks are much easier to trod. Last summer I saw a photo on a CDP blog showing cobblestones - with a woman walking on them in stilleto heels! Agh! It brought pains of remembrance to my poor knees and ankles. Cobblestones and stilletos - not a good combination.
Lachezar, if there are cobblestones here, they are a mere decorative band somewhere. I don't remember where.
Hello,Avignon-with-the-funny-symbols-where-words-should-be. Yep, the alley way and buildings are sheathed in brinks. Probably to make sure that neither tornadoes nor the Big Bad Wolf will ever blow them down.
Jim: Thanks. Yours is nice, too.
A nice capture of flag-stones which give a very similar effect to the cobblestones alley-ways.
theme Day is always about doing your best! Lovely scene. Enjoy your April.
Excellent choice, the picture is beautiful.
This is a pretty cool rain shot.
