There was something really inviting about the green plants,
all cushiony and comfy looking, yet with the dried stalks
from last year's planting protruding from their midst,
it's not likely that anyone will be resting
on their laurels in this garden.
Yeah, well, I know they're not laurels,
but it was there, ya know?

My whole planting area is the dried stalks from last year. I'm crap in the garden.
Me, too, Scout. Me, too.
I think these dried stalks are last summer ornamental grasses, cut off a bit above ground level, with the little green guys coming in first in spring. Dunno.
