Beautiful Green

Standing in front of the Federal Court Building while
waiting for a bus, I looked up to see a tree
I'd seen a gazillion times before. This time, however,
the tree stood out sharply from its fog-draped
surroundings, covered in a coat of moss
that accentuated its shape and the texture of its bark.

Lovely!

Isn't it odd how you can look at things so many times and suddenly see them in an entirely new way?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the tree, standing out from the foggy background. I've been looking at it for about 30 years, off and on, even taken its picture, but that was the first time I saw that green.
