Mallard on Red Water

From time to time, the Central Canal is dyed
to help promote a holiday or event.
On St. Patrick's Day it becomes that nasty,
flat green. It is pink during Cancer Awareness
events. Monday found it an odd, dark
red for, what? National Butchers' Day? Bleh.
No matter, because the reflections from
the trees complimented the water
and it didn't keep this duck from happily
grooming and bathing itself.

The canal was dyed pink on Friday for Cancer awareness. Hence the Colts and highschool teams with pink uniforms or accents - wrist bands, tape etc.

Well, FD, it may have been pink on Friday, but it was the color of blood on Monday. Not the glamourous movie color red, either, but the color of red meat left in the air. Bleh.

Wonderful action shot, though!

I did wonder why it was so vivid, red dye. Great action shot though and the colour does show up those splashes
