I couldn't choose which picture I preferred:
the one of the small purple flower set against the begonias,
which seem to emphasize its small size and delicacy,
or the one in which the little guys' beautiful colors
are set off by the granite bordering their garden spot.

It's too hard to choose; both are wonderful. Those little purple guys sure do put on a show.
They really do look delicate and refined compared to the begonias, which seemed fat and blobby. It's funny that two such different plants, placed right next to each other, have their own role to play, bugs and birds to feed, etc.
Ah, the wonder of Nature.
I suppose Nature's to blame for me feeling as fat and blobby as a begonia in this stupid heatwave.
Sigh …
You have your own role to play, bugs and birds to feed, etc. :-) You'll be fine, I'm sure.
Is your new work going well, or just not yet in the rhythm of things? It must be so tempting to have the river just outside, within view.
These little purple guys are the stars and constellations of the garden for sure. Your depth of field and color is spot-on! Thanks for your comment today on my blog... merci.

Thank you, Genie, for visiting and nice compliment.
I love the different shades of purple and how they interact with the different color backgrounds.
Canon used to have a camera near the Seine where I could log on to watch the river traffic. *Sigh.* I don't think it's there anymore. At any rate, I don't have access to it.
