Huh? WTF?

Whenever I see any of the Bimbo USA delivery trucks,
I can't help but want to slap them up side
the headlights of their radiator grills.
As it turns out, Bimbo is a Mexican bakery that's been around
since 1945. It's corporate headquarters are in Pennsylvania.
The company also produces other, well-known brands
of baked goods. The bear mascot is the equivalent
of Pillsbury's Poppin' Fresh.

But I still want to slap the trucks.

Well, slap my truck. Thank you for a new phrase, Speedway. I'll slip it into a meeting next week and see who notices.

Well, Dive, the first time I saw a Bimbo truck was outside a neighborhood Hispanic grocery. I wondered then why the owners called their bakery after a pejorative for dumb, self-occupied blonds. Bimbo is supposed to be the little bear, but when I entered the name into a Sp-to-Eng translator, the word had the same meaning. But then, it's guys, so whadda I know?

Bimbo shows up in the text of the opera "Madame Butterfly" being used for her son. Pinkerton calls his new bride "Bimba" - little girl.
The folks at the bakery liked the sound of it and now it has become sort of generic for a loaf of bread in Spanish.
