After seemingly interminable days of cold and drear,
the flowers have arrived.
The hyacinths have opened in a neighborhood flower bed ...
This colony of daffodils converse among themselves
on a traffic island, their chatter sounding
like petals fluttering in the chilly breeze ...
And this little fairy door in the tree
looking for all the world like a tiny pope hat,
waiting for the gnomes who reside there to return
from their winter in Florida.

Yay for signs of spring, Speedway. Love the Tim Burton hinge on the little door.
My beautiful "host of golden daffodils" was killed in the wild hailstorm on Wednesday. Nice that there are some elsewhere in the city that survived.
G'morning, Dive. I enjoy the homeowner's whimsy here, even if it's commercialized. The little door is a treat, complete with the curly hinge.
Ahh, poor daffodils, Alison. The winter we had last year spoiled us for the long chill we got this year. I wonder if Pauxatawny Phil was fired after all?
