Back of the Bus

One evening, as the bus I was riding came up to its stop, I noticed this design on the bus in front of us. At first, I thought it was a part of its paint scheme; instead it was from the adhesive-backed advertising design that had been removed.

And now for the ubiquitous utility pole. I'd been trying to make a Mondrian-like grid from the lines and insulators. Between the street-gray bus and the pole, the stares I got from people as I took the pictures were enough to fill a large sack with question marks.

"Tourist?"

"Nope."

"One of them arty types?"

"Yep."

"Oh."

Yay for arty types! Two fabulous photos, Speedway. Much as I love the top one I could never have it on my wall as the OCD side of me would go crazy wanting to straighten those lights.

I thought about straightening the lights, Dive. However, recent efforts along that line (entrance to the Lacy Bldg being one) have left other parts of the image looking a bit warped - and me feeling skewed. So I left it.

I absolutely LOVE the top one! I swear I have a shirt with that same design. Oh, and Arty types rule.

Thanks, Neetsy. Sometimes I think Dive and I are carrying on a private conversation that can be viewed by the world, except nobody's paying attention. It's nice to know somebody else is looking in from time to time.

If arty types don't rule, they certainly should.

I've a close friend, also an art teacher, who works really hard to bring contnet other than "art" into her class room. You should chat with her. Her blog is listed on the right, "At the Crossroads."
