I went out today, finding it to be about twice as warm
as I'd expected. Still, as per usual on these warmer days,
the sky was gray. No contrasts were presented,
no gleaming light bounced from the icy surfaces.
But there were still some beautiful little mysteries,
such as how did the plant acquire that icicle,
flowing over and around a couple of its buds?
And is the plant in the bottom photo wearing icy lace,
or did the snow take on the delicate brown
stems for its own adornment?

Ol' Jack Frost sure is a fine decorator.
