Shadow Dance

Today I walked over to the RV parking area
on Georgetown Road, outside of the Speedway.
It was my first visit this spring to a grove of trees
which over the years, following the lead of the sun,
swayed to the rhythm of wind and time,
and acquired curved, undulating trunks.
This morning, the sun cast their dancing shadows
on the new grass, gamboling in place
to a lifelong dance, following the beat
of  the seasons.

Oh, goody, you're back! I've missed you, your cheeky comments, well as your kind words and consideration.

Yeh, those trees really made the grass look almost as though it were the surface of a river where a boat has just gone by and the wake is working itself towards the bank.
