Appointment

After an appointment this morning at University Hospital,
I stopped in at the book store at the IUPUI Student Center,
where I saw this grouping of happy orange chairs.

Here is a view from the hospital's third floor,
looking east towards the center of downtown Indianapolis,
about a mile away. Taken at about 9 a.m., the temperature was
already in the 80s. I spent the rest of my time outdoors
walking from one shaded area to the next.

Looks like Danish design chairs.
Love the shapes and the light in your image!:)

I like the way chairs tend to congregate in small social groups and sit around and chat. How inconsiderate of people to disturb them.

Thank you, Gunn. The chairs are Arne Jacobsen's "Swan Chair" designed in 1956, and the side tables were designed by Eero Saarinen at about the same time. (Please, don't tell anybody the furniture was from good designers or they'll get taken away.)

I do, too, Dive, though I thought the grouping looked more like poppies in the sun.

Poppies! That is just what I thought when I saw these perfect orange flowers. Oh? You say they are chairs... perhaps, but they really look as if they are blooming in a garden!
