Wild on the Creek

Just about the only flowers in the neighborhood are those
along the banks of the creek in the Coke Field.
There are were a lot of roses around town, but they are all faded,
their petals "rusted" on the edges from heat
and fallen away.

I've always preferred the small petals and subtle shades of wildflowers to showy, blowsy garden specimens, so these photos are wonderfully refreshing.
